On the evening of December 2nd we will be adding a new feature to our Electronic Case Filing system - e-summons generation. As part of the e-filing process, filers can request a variety of summons documents to be generated and made available to them. More information in the online tutorial.
All Circuit Civil Cases that end in an even number are assigned to Division B (Judge Skinner), and all cases that end in an odd number are assigned to Division A (Judge Lester). All cases filed prior to January 2011 will be reassigned the same way.
Only County Applications and Homestead properties that do not sell during the Tax Deed Auctions are placed on the List of Lands Available and can be purchased off the list. If not purchased properties contained on the list shall escheat to the county three years after the date on which the property was offered for tax deed sale.
The Audit Report for the Clay County Clerk of the Circuit Court for the year ending September 30, 2010 is available on line.
Public access to misdemeanor and felony records from 1978 to 1998 are now available for on-line search.
We have completely refreshed and updated the Clay County Clerk's Website, with a range of features to make it more accessible and easier to find information. The new menus at the top and side, and the "Site Search" at the top of the page should make finding the information you need faster.
Effective November 1, 2010 we will begin collecting recording fees for all documents related to Lis Pendens (except for Orders) that are filed after the original Lis Pendens has been filed. Examples of the documents for which these charges will apply are Discharges of Lis Pendens, Satisfaction of Lis Pendens, Notices of Dropping Parties, etc.
The recording fees will be $10.00 for the first page and $8.50 for each additional page.

In the past, many tasks that would have required your personal attendance at the courthouse can now be completed on line; and for those activities where you will still need to visit one of our offices you should be able to prepare for your visit using this site, making your visit easier and faster, and avoiding the need to return at a later date with additional documents or information.
