Investigation Services

The Inspector General (IG) conducts investigations of suspected fraud, waste, abuse, or ethical misconduct initiated through the Clay County Clerk of Court and Comptroller’s Division of Inspector General Hotline or other sources.

The investigative process involves witness and party interviews, document gathering, and utilizing any other legal means by which investigators can obtain relevant, credible information to substantiate allegations. If an investigation uncovers violations of policies and/or regulations, the Inspector General will make recommendations for administrative action and internal control improvements to remedy the situation.
