Clerks Help Raise Awareness During Domestic Violence Awareness Month

Partnership with Quigley House Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Center and Other Partners Recognized

Clerk of Court and Comptroller Tara S. Green and her staff were honored today to join staff from Quigley House and other partner agencies, like the State Attorneys Office, in recognizing Domestic Violence Awareness Month. As part of that effort, the color purple was worn by attendees and purple flags were added to the lawn of the Clay County Courthouse in Green Cove Springs.

Another way our office is addressing the needs of our citizens in regards to domestic violence prevention is through our Low Bono Program which has expanded to include assistance with Injunctions for Protection.  Program-affiliated attorneys are now available to assist Low Bono clients with forms and preparation for court hearings related to injunctions. In this way, our office is supplementing the services already provided through Quigley House for their clients in shelter or direct referrals from law enforcement. We are grateful for all our colleagues who work diligently to protect victims of domestic violence in Clay County.
