Individuals with criminal records may be eligible to have their record sealed or expunged under Florida Law. In order to have a criminal history record sealed or expunged, you must first obtain a Certificate of Eligibility from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. After a Certificate of Eligibility is obtained, you can then petition the court for an order to seal or expunge your record. Individuals who apply to have a criminal history record sealed or expunged are responsible to pay a court cost of $37.50 as well as a certified copy cost of $27.50 to $37.50, depending on the number of copies required. On average the total cost to seal or expunge a criminal history record is $65.00 to $87.00.
