Florida Court Clerks & Comptrollers (FCCC) recently honored certain Clerks of Court with awards for exceptional service. The awards were presented by 2022-2023 FCCC President and Martin County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller Carolyn Timmann last week during the association’s annual summer conference.
Clay County Clerk of Court and Comptroller Tara S. Green was recognized with the 2022-2023 Legislative Advocate Award.
“As an association, our success is the culmination of the tireless work of our members and their staff,” said Clerk Timmann. “I’m proud to honor these colleagues and friends for the impact they have made to foster best practices and legislative changes in support of our operations and services for people and businesses across the state.”
Other award recipients included: 2022–2023 Clerk of the Year, the Honorable Stacy Butterfield, Polk County Clerk of Court and Comptroller, and 2022–2023 Statesman, the Honorable John A. Crawford, Nassau County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller.
Clerk Green worked hand-in-hand with these and other key members to make sure legislators were informed and well aware of the court system needs in our counties. As a result, Florida Court Clerks & Comptrollers celebrated the passage last month of its priority legislation that will provide more stable revenue sources for court-related services.
“This legislation is a significant step toward stabilizing the resources Clerks of Court need to effectively serve our diverse communities and support our judicial and law enforcement partners,” said FCCC President Timmann.
Clay County Clerk of Court and Comptroller Green agrees, and said, “The goal is to close the gap between available funds and current operating budgets for Clerks’ services. Clerks look forward to continuing to work with their partners in the Legislature to support their important services for residents and businesses in Florida.
Congratulations, Clerk of Court and Comptroller Green for receiving this award and representing Clay County citizens here at home and in Tallahassee.
