Courthouse Closure Update - Rescheduled Court Calendar and Probation News

The Clay County Courthouse will remain closed to the public on Thursday, August 31st for in-person service and court appearances in accordance with the 4th Circuit chief judge’s administrative order.  Despite this required building closure, Clerk’s Office and Comptroller staff will be working on Thursday and available to answer calls and emails during normal business hours. Call (904) 269-6302 from 8am-5pm. Normal courthouse business operations will resume on Friday, September 1st.  All Clerk’s Office branch locations (Orange Park, Teen Court, and Archives Center) will be fully operational and open to the public this Thursday and Friday.

The following dates, times, and locations reflect new information relayed to the Clerk of Court for Judge Forbess and his rescheduled calendar:

  • August 29th 1:30 session is now scheduled for September 7th, 1:30 Courtroom 1
  • August 30th Juvenile session is now scheduled for September 13th
  • August 30th 1:30 Felony session is now scheduled for September 6th, 1:30 Courtroom 12 (Lester; covered by Forbess)
  • August 31st 9:00 session is now scheduled for September 22nd 9:00 Courtroom 2

Probation defendants are asked to contact the Clerk’s Office for rescheduled dates.  Thank you.
