Webster’s Dictionary defines fine art as 1: art (such as painting, sculpture, or music) concerned primarily with the creation of beautiful objects and 2: an activity requiring a fine skill. Augusta Savage
Augusta Savage (1892 – 1962) was an American sculptor best known for her work during the Harlem Renaissance. An art teacher as well, she worked with budding artists of her time while also working for equal rights for African Americans in the arts throughout her lifetime.
